“You don’t have to be skinny to have these kinds of photos done! I was so scared because I’m a thicker girl but Shaylynn walked me though it and made me feel absolutely beautiful and sexy! She makes everything so much fun and relaxing and the photos are amazing! Taking the risk to try something like this was so worth it and my hubby loved it. ;)”

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?” ~Marianne Williamson This quote always shakes me. I did a big, brave, scary, yet empowering thing today. But. I did it for me! I will share with you that I nearly cancelled it 4x. Then due to the melting weather and other unforeseen circumstances, the session was rescheduled twice. And that voice inside was saying… see, it’s not supposed to happen. You’re not… (fill in the blanks)! Or… “you’re too old, too overweight (stupid Covid) , you’re too much”. Anyone that knows me knows I’m super uncomfortable and awkward in front of the camera. Which is why I found comfort BEHIND the camera for so many years as a photographer. Because, as women, (and maybe for men too) It’s really damn scary to shine your “light”. Whatever that means or may be. But. We all have it. That light. I think, it’s simply…being all authentically you, flaws, faults, failures and all. And celebrating that. Sharing THAT. With your closest loved ones AND with the world. And not worrying what others will think. That is the secret sauce! Not worrying…about what others will think. That voice in my head often says… “who are you, to be brave, strong, empowered, smart, compassionate, beautiful, loving, inspiring…? Who are you? Well. This. Today. It reminded me. Of that, light. And no, not the “image”. But that smile. And that sparkle in those eyes. And that genuine playfulness that often gets buried and hidden and forgotten. I did it for me. So loves, I’m sharing because… I want you all too… to do that SOMETHING, that scares you a shit ton, that one thing that really reminds you… of who you are!! Because I’m willing to bet… it’s so damn amazing. And the world deserves to see. And. Ladies. If you’re local… Shaylynn is the most magical human being and so talented and she’ll make you feel SO comfortable!! So consider this your invitation and permission slip!

“Do it for you! I originally thought to do it for my husband but it really ended up being for me. I felt so beautiful! It's such a confidence booster and a great investment in yourself. You will not regret that decision.”

Miss J.

“Trust the pro! She won't lead you astray and knows what she's doing! Also, try not to allow any negative self-talk in your head the day of. You ARE one of the beautiful women you see on her pages!”

Miss K.

“Don’t overthink it, Shaylynn will pose you so that you look absolutely flawless, she brings out your best assets and every angle is the most flattering part of your body!”

Miss N.

“If you’re wanting to do a session but think you’re not ready, stop. You’re so ready! No matter where you are in life, this is you and it’s more than good enough. Everyone has their insecurities, but that’s the thing...we all have them. Just go and embrace what you do love about yourself. Of course you will be nervous, but have fun! Have that bubbly beforehand!”

Miss T.

“My tiny bit of advice is this: don't get caught up in doing what everyone else has done! Your session is making YOU shine - once I realized I didn't have to look like everyone else's photos, I brought some stuff from my wedding and Shaylynn made it spectacular! Have fun!! Xoxo”

Miss A.

“Don't overthink it!
Trust your photographer! She knows what she's doing!
Have fun shopping for your outfits (or accessories if you already have the outfits)
Come prepared with a good attitude ... No one wants grumpy cat photos. STRETCH!!!!!!!
Let go of your insecurities and any pre-conceived notions you have about boudoir (have some coffee or a shot of liquid courage if it helps LOL)
ALLOW YOURSELF TO HAVE FUN - CAUSE IT IS!!!”

Miss E.

“First of all Shaylynn is simply amazing! Her personality makes everything so easy going and makes you feel like a rockstar; She will position you, fluff the hair, give you all the funny sayings to make you laugh. After having my son, I was still so self conscious about my body but after I slayed that session, my insecurities were gone! You’ll want to do it again, trust me!”

Miss J.

“Don’t be scared! It was one of the best self esteem boosters this plus size girl has ever done! Wear something comfortable and just keep reminding yourself that EVERY body is beautiful, and if you’re doing it do a spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend, they already know what you look like at your worst so there’s a pretty great chance they’re going to love what they see at with the end result.”

Miss E.

“just go for it! Throw your fears aside because you are amazing and you should be able to see yourself that way. Pick things to wear that are YOU. That will help you feel comfortable and just like yourself. Take one look in the mirror and find your inner goddess. She’s always been there. Now let her shine! You won’t regret it. I promise!!”

Miss B.

“Trust Shaylynn. I’m a curvy girl and the thought of a boudoir session gave me a lot of anxiety. But I wanted to give my deployed husband a really special gift and remind him what he’s missing. I was terrified of looking like a marshmallow in my pictures, but trust your photographer. She knows all the angles and the lighting, and can make you look beautiful in the fanciest piece of lingerie or just your underwear. So let her do her thing and trust the process. Boudoir photography helps you see what else stands out about you, not just the extra curves you might not want to see in pictures. So get out of your comfort zone and treat yourself to this special experience- and if you have a significant other, there’s really no better gift than a confident you!”
